The unofficial guide to Chicago eating

During my ride into the city this morning, it dawned on me that I know a lot about Chicago eating. Like a lot, a lot. And just as I was lamenting about my lack of inspiration this morning - an idea hit me. Why not create a neighborhood by neighborhood guide of the best eats in Chicago...according to me. I mean, I eat, breath and sleep the industry for a living now. I know what's new, what's old, what's coming. I know the best cheap eats and the most expensive.


Shoot, I even wanted to audition for this host position because I love her and she's leaving the show but I didn't have the cajones to submit an application.

And while I haven't made it to all of the ones on my list; I have a healthy database to offer you...restaurants with longevity and not necessarily trendsetters.

So, here's what you need to know about my guide:

1. It's my guide and my opinion. And it's unofficial.
2. I've lived here my whole life so I like to think I've got some street cred.
3. I will offer up my favorite joints according to cuisine along with best "new on the scene"
4. Some neighborhoods will be left out if I have nothing legit to bring to the table.
