Monday's are so hard for me. I really get the blues. Instead of mourning the start of a new work week, I've decided to embrace Monday's by reaching for Fall statement + comfort pieces. Cozy makes life more doable. And as my husband's busy season kicks off, easy sounds good as he often gets home pretty late in the evening. Not his preference or ours but it makes me admire single parents all the more. Being a working parent is not easy but you do it for your kids...for a better life.
This Agnes + Dora dress is easy for me. It's not sweat pants but it sure feels like it and what's better than that?
This week is my husband's birthday week. Gosh, we've known each other for twenty years, been married for six, had two gorgeous babies, lived in three homes and here we are. We've known each other for half each other's lives. Nuts and that makes me feel super old...
...but kinda super awesome, too...right? How lucky am I to know someone so well and still have them accept me for all my flaws? And there are many my friends...many.
There's something about a crisp, cold morning that I really love. I think it makes coffee taste that much better. Just a theory I have. By noon, the sun has burned off and what you get is the perfect Fall day that does not necessitate a jacket. My favorite!
I am mourning the loss of another weekend. I feel like October is flying by so quickly. It's insane. From here on out we are going to try and cram as much pumpkin into our schedule as possible. I will admit...the weather has been hovering at this perfect 70ish mark which makes outfit prepping kinda fun still. Not quite in layers but chilly at night.
I'm still feeling the black but this time with a pop of PINK! My all time favorite color. My girls ask me weekly what my favorite color is and every week I tell them the same response - PINK, ALWAYS PINK! They must be really bored with dear old mom.
It's been a dark week already. Hard to lift the cobwebs. I'm on a mission to find some goodness in this world. Luckily that commodity is free with the assistance of two little girls. The best things in life ARE free, indeed.
One of my top five favorite things about Fall has got to be the ability to wear denim cutoffs with long sleeved tops. I couldn't tell you why that is but it's a thing and it's a small fleeting moment before our legs completely freeze over here in Chicago.
What could be better than a dress made out of sweatshirt material? Don't answer that! I realize this trend might not be for everyone but shoot guys, I was ultra comfortable running around the city in this little diddy. Fashion tip: You have to belt this dress or it will look like a giant potato sack which is no bueno. I linked a few inexpensive options below but you can find a wide belt just about anywhere these days. Belting everything is SO of the moment again.
I write this post as I browse pink sneakers online. I have no idea how I end up in these rabbit holes. I look at today's outfit post and I do admire a good heel but I dare say...I think I am becoming a sneaker head! Heels offer such a beautiful silhouette but there are so manyyyyyy sneaker options. Is that the mom in me coming out? I think so.
Sooooo...this top. Yeah, I wear it a lot. Whatever happened to the baby doll trend? I miss it. In other news, I just listened to a podcast with Courtney Love. Like whoa. She was an amazing interview. I highly recommend Girl Boss Radio if you like podcasts.
Welcome to V.2 of this bad ass mini skirt. My last post was rocker chic but today is all about the ladylike details. And who doesn't love a good ruffle? #amiright? This was another one of those unexpected pairings because I didn't try this outfit on before we shot it. I just knew two things: 1. I loved the skirt and 2. I am a sucker for stripes and ruffles. Voíla! An outfit is born!
This week I will be showing you two ways to style this AMAZING studded skirt for Fall. At $50, I'm going to make a strong case for your purchase. It's more versatile than you think but you need to remember a few tips:
