You've heard me sing the praises of my LANY backpack here and here. I've learned to repurpose it for just about any occasion which is truly a testament to how versatile it really is. This poor bag has seen sand, bicycles, play cafes, photo shoots and more.
You'd be surprised how much you can fit in it, too! Today I thought I'd share the vacation version since we just returned from Hilton Head.
Stating the obvious here, but I ditched the extra leggings, kiddo underwear and toys in exchange for sunscreen, glittery glasses, tinted lip balm and beach snacks.
I'm nothing if I'm not OCD. Every morning I'd repack my bag with these accessories. It was a welcome change. I can hold anyone over with enough granola bars and maps.
And with these two nuggets...let's just say I always have a back up swim suit AND sundress to take us from the beach to the cafe.

That said, I hope each and every one of you have an amazing Memorial Day weekend! xo
It's no secret that the best way ditch the winter blues and speed up the Spring vibes is to opt for color, color, COLOR! Luckily for me, I got my dose two weeks ago on my trip to AZ!
If you follow me on Instagram, you know that I just returned from a weekend getaway in Scottsdale with my husband. One part family wedding and the other part QT with my husband. It was nothing short of an amazing weekend filled with laughter, my extended family whom I haven't seen in 19 years, many glasses of wine, poolside lounging and hey…!….I finished a book. Does it get any better?
If you think this is a group that is okay disconnecting from devices; you'd be sorely mistaken. We were, indeed, those annoying chicks across the street snapping pictures...constantly. Ahhhh hey, you only live once. Speaking of - catch my Day 1 and Day 2 recaps!
Day 2 of NYC. Slightly dehydrated but happy nonetheless! (Day 1 recap found here) We woke up on the later side of the morning, bed head included, and showered up for an iconic lunch at Bergdorf's. Oh the people watching! I've never seen so many tightly pulled, blonde women in one, central location. Hilarious.
Much to my surprise, lunch was positively fabulous. After I inhaled a crab sandwich and a cappuccino...I started to feel like myself again. And slightly more hydrated. Always a plus.
This is the girls' trip that keeps on living. We've been texting each other and sharing photos since we returned...even planning a reunion of sorts. It was that good. So why not immortalize it forever? And that's just what I'm gonna do so get ready for a recap of sorts this week and the next but I promise you it won't be boring because these girls are anything but. That is for certain!
May is always such a crazy month. Sometimes I am relieved to turn the calendar to June but it really is the official kick off to Summer which means I should appreciate the turn of events and weather, right? Right!
The best part about a STAYcation is the fun in discovering your own backyard. I appreciate my city more and more with each passing visit forcing me to play tourist and unearth all the amazing things Chicago has to offer. Such was the case when I packed up the family for a weekend at Public Hotel.
I'm excited to launch a new series here on 101 things i love. STAY is a series dedicated to discovering your own backyard...the ultimate staycation experience, if you will. The idea came to fruition after countless nights of my husband and I sitting with laptops on our laps and furrowed brows wondering when our next opportunity would be to truly disconnect. Hence, the quick STAYcation was born with the opportunity to scoop the girls up and drive somewhere just to indulge in spa robes, hotel pools and copious happy hours...and plenty of cocktail peanuts.
It's hard to believe December was the last time I did one of these. Time flies.
I chose to revisit this theme after a particularly melancholy week. Turns out February was more vibrant than I had remembered. Well, there was Austin. Hard to avoid color in that great city!
The bikini. A staple of my youth. A dreaded fitting experience as an adult. But fear not! It doesn't have to be this way any longer. Target's made swimsuit shopping a cinch with what feels like a billion different fits, colors and coverage options. From teeny weeny to modest coverage, this year's experience was...dare I say...enjoyable?!
