Sassy. Party of two? Yes...right here. Meet Lola and Olivia. Summer has, in a word, been amazing for these two. Between camp, frequent froyo runs, playdates, weekend brunches and pool dates...I would like to trade in my ticket to adulthood, pronto!
Let's get back to pools and sprinklers...because we've been plowing through SPF which means my little bubble guppies are frequently in bathing suits when I see them in between meetings. And the company that made it possible - Fasten.
From cover ups to headbands to bathing suits...the two mom-preneurs behind this line have literally made motherhood a little less hectic. And by hectic, I mean that moment when your little runs up holding her private parts expressing a strong desire to go to the bathroom and you have to drop everything because you now have 15 seconds to bust a move before she urinates in public. Sound familiar? Just me...Bueller?
See that flap Olivia is holding up? It's held together by two side snaps and magnets making the potty process a cinch. All she has to do is lift and squat! No struggle to pull down a wet suit that only gets tangled the harder you pull. Nope, none of it!
In fact, I can wait outside the bathroom stall and my girls are completely self sufficient in these bathing suits. It's the most brilliant invention ever and they start in infant sizes and go up to girl sizes.
My girls LOVE these suits. They wear them every opportunity they get and I love the cute prints. I rinse them in machine wash cold and let them air dry. Easy peasy.
Moms...run don't walk because they've slashed their prices for end of summer promotions! So many great designs to choose from, too. Heck, I want one!
Take advantage of 35% off and free shipping over $50! Happy shopping ladies! xo
Starting holiday traditions is one of the things we most look forward to and everything kicks off in November. Although it makes for very busy weekends...they bring the most smiles.
Every year we head downtown for the Annual Light Festival which takes place on the Magnificent Mile...better known as Michigan Avenue.
We loved this book! I've read it weekly to my kids as there is so much "new" in their little lives with teachers, classrooms, routines and new friends. But it's a bit of a role reversal because this books is all about prepping their teachers for a rad school year. Meet this week's Brightly Book is: How to Get Your Teacher Ready. This Land's End weekly book recommendation also seems custom tailored to our little family. Here are the cliff notes:

We loved loved loved this week's Brightly Book: We're All Wonders. It explores the differences in all of us which came at a tremendous time as my girls have been incredibly inquisitive about hair color, skin color and beyond. We are through and through a Seuss family. I was so excited when my girls quickly adopted this author's books into their little bedroom libraries. And let's be honest...they are an easy read on the days when you've been put through the ringer in life and as a parent. I am nothing if I am not brutally honest!
School is coming up so quick we can smell it! Let's just say we've been spending a LOT of extra time reading at night to wipe off the cobwebs. It's good to get back to our roots and the girls are enjoying a little mom and dad time sans television which...here, here to that!
Parental friends! I am so excited to be partnering with Lands' End on a special summer initiative regarding our littles...because let's face it, we all want to keep them entertained but we often forget that fun doesn't mean a three-ring circus daily. Sometimes it's about revisiting the basics. By basics I am referring to keeping learning fun and ensuring that they stay fresh as a new school year approaches. Hard to even wrap our heads around, right?
Twinning is the new black. I'm sure you knew this! Well, looks like I'm on-trend again because this past Easter my girls and I dressed from head to toe in Lola and the Boys. And it was awesome! We wore their leaf dresses which were more than comfortable to entertain in and play in.
When it comes to little lady dresses...I am rendered useless. Just absolute mush. I melt for my girls in dresses and it just so happens that Easter is around the corner, my friends! Meet Pippa & Julie: you're go-to source for the most darling dresses ever!
The hardest part of being a mom is leaving your kids. Of course, it makes the return that much sweeter. The other hardest part is when you've got 'em...what do you do with them? Yes, we are now at that age in which I often hear, "Mom, I'm bored." or "What are we gonna do today that's fun?"
