they always make you happy. Name an instance when you saw a pineapple print and didn't smile. Can't think of one can you? It's summer's happy fruit!
I was a smitten kitten when I spotted this pineapple number and the rest is history! You can never have too many dresses.
Truth is...I'm kinda struggling here, guys. Posting and maintaining all my work is literally giving me heart palpitations yet I've worked so hard to build a meaningful relationship with this blogging community. It's really hard to do it all hence why there was no Monday post.
You have no idea how much that bothers me. It eats at me because I've always been so diligent but gosh, a summer Sunday with my family is what I want to be doing vs sitting on the couch staring at a blue screen. I suppose they call it disconnecting. It's so liberating though.
I will always love fashion and my friends and events but please...gimme a hall pass for my sporadic schedule. I've committed to four posts a week and that has been a total labor of love. I even wonder if I'm starting to become uninteresting.
Do I have really anything valuable to say? Is my shit getting old? These are the things that roll around in my brain when I'm driving.
But pineapples, they make me smile. And things aren't really all that bad. Gosh, my husband and I had an amazing celebration for our sixth anniversary. We hung out with the kiddos all weekend. Summer is a little slice of heaven that I'm desperately hanging on to...I hope you'll hang with me!

The black and white phase continues. It's just SO easy to get dressed. I know you all discovered this before me so please forgive. This was yesterday's shoot outfit for a day of schlepping without sacrificing chic.
Monday...we meet again! Hi friends! Back at it again after a busy weekend. I think we are all feeling the same, right? It was full but it was so great. Mom + Dad got a little date night fun in and we pretty much laid around all Sunday. Okay, that was me. I laid around all Saturday. #truth
When you look at me, you probably thing "DANGER." I know. I totally get it. Suburban mom in black. Watch out!
In all honesty, I love an all black ensembles. It's the young girl longing to be a New Yorker in me that never quite dissolved. Coulda, shoulda, woulda right? It's cool.
Greetings! Long time no write or at least it feels like it. Are you guys entering Thanksgiving mode? I feel like we just stored all the pumpkin goodies and I am already seeing Christmas commercials. Heaven help me!
This is a Friday dress. No muss, no fuss. And velvet is right on trend at the moment. Who knew?
No, I actually totally knew and have been hesitant to jump back onto the velvet train, however, when I saw this dress - it was a non-starter.
Attending a college football game 17 years after the fact is a completely different experience. Dare I say - I felt old but I was really glad to be through all the trials and tribulations of my 20's.
My husband and I attended the Iowa/Northwestern game with friends this past weekend and I joked that this was my tailgating attire. It may not have been school gear but I did represent in t-shirt colors!
There's something about a crisp, cold morning that I really love. I think it makes coffee taste that much better. Just a theory I have. By noon, the sun has burned off and what you get is the perfect Fall day that does not necessitate a jacket. My favorite!
I am mourning the loss of another weekend. I feel like October is flying by so quickly. It's insane. From here on out we are going to try and cram as much pumpkin into our schedule as possible. I will admit...the weather has been hovering at this perfect 70ish mark which makes outfit prepping kinda fun still. Not quite in layers but chilly at night.
I'm still feeling the black but this time with a pop of PINK! My all time favorite color. My girls ask me weekly what my favorite color is and every week I tell them the same response - PINK, ALWAYS PINK! They must be really bored with dear old mom.
It's been a dark week already. Hard to lift the cobwebs. I'm on a mission to find some goodness in this world. Luckily that commodity is free with the assistance of two little girls. The best things in life ARE free, indeed.
