We Are Now, We Are Bold, We Are Fit, We Are Free – We Are USA. We are boohoo.
boohoo is a brand after my own heart. I sang the praises of this dress yesterday. I want it in two other colors because the fit is amazing and let's face it...affordable fashion is my motto, let alone $35 dresses that make you feel like a goddess. The website is one of my top five bookmarked shopping sites for a reason!
Naturally, when they asked me to share what's in my beach bag...that was a no-brainer because as you know, I've savoring Summer. Every last watermelon slice!
What's in my bag? (you'll probably wish you'd never asked!) Obviously my girls have a huge influence on my free time hence the banana and stray goldfish. Sunblock...a given. Bathing suit, and cut offs because if I am with them...we're at the pool and of course, my wallet...because someone has to buy bomb pops for the clan. Oh and hand sanitizer because I'm a freak about germs. (Did you guess that? I bet you did.)
No, it's not as glamorous as my evening clutch but it's me; everyday. Enjoy the summer, enjoy the now.

Happy first day of Summer, friends! How sweet it is. I'm ready to embrace all the sunshine and make this a killer summer with my little family. Are you? Let's kick if off with some sizzling Summer fashion! I am all about sandals and breezy dresses as of late. Pants are for the birds so free those gams and scoop up this gorgeous pinstripe dress. Hurry while supplies last!
My style has evolved over the years and I've quickly adopted the" less is more" theory. For example, if you're going to show more skin on top, cover up on the bottom and vice versa. This does not remove "sexy" from the equation, however. I believe you should flaunt what you've got and for me...it's always the legs. I'd like to think that after decades of ballet class and most recently, a pretty dedicated workout routine that "I've still got it"...as they say.
Camisoles can decidedly dress up just about every pair of denim you own. I get bored with graphic tees at times and opt for something more feminine. Don't get me wrong...I think every girl should have an arsenal of different tops for their moods, especially if your go-to uniform is denim!
In approximately eight minutes <as I write this...> I turn another year older. One more year! I could write you this long diatribe about what I've learned this year but we'll save that for my NYE recap. I'll give you the cliff notes. This year I learned one thing:
Spring is the yin and yang of fashion. It you live in Chicago, you might actually turn both the AC and the heat on within the same day. It's what inspired today's post -- 20 pieces to take you through transition weather. Blouses, denim, dresses and strappy heels. Some of my favorite items and ones that you should stock up on because they never go out of style. I find myself layering a lot during the season because you can always shed the layers = smart dressing!
Long gone are the days of boring suits. I much rather prefer to punch it up with vibrant shoes and accessories. Such is the case with today's look. It's my one and only Spring suit. If there's ever a time to break it out...it's now! Today I went for a nautical look because...well, because why not?
I've had this crochet dress for several years and never shot in it. Crazy, I know. Literally the 8th Wonder! I kid. In all honesty, it was relatively inexpensive from the ever-popular ASOS website. I love it for two reasons. I can dress it up as shown above AND I can pair it with a pair of combat boots for a totally different look. Just add a leather jacket!
It's no secret that the best way ditch the winter blues and speed up the Spring vibes is to opt for color, color, COLOR! Luckily for me, I got my dose two weeks ago on my trip to AZ!
Weekends are for sun and smiles. And that's just what we did! I guess you could say this is a week of stylish photography with my littles. Every once in a while they like to make a cameo and I am happy to oblige.
Olivia is such a ray of sunshine. I think you can see it in these photos. This year has been such a big year for her growth. She's one of the funniest and brightest kindergartners I know. Naturally. Being her mom is one of the most rewarding jobs of all time. I wish I could take credit for her personality but I think Livie just has all sorts of goodness in her. She is caring and protective of her sister. She adores her father. She is thoughtful and makes little gifts for her grandparents. She works hard on her school work and she is a gifted little artist. I love seeing her creativity blossom.
