Self confidence. Did you always have it? Some people are born confident while others have to work to appreciate themselves. I'd like to think that comes with age. Sadly, for some...it never does.
Have you ever thought about what makes you feel the most confident? Is it a certain outfit? Being around certain people? Music? It could be anything. Heck, it could be after a 30-minute work out giving you that euphoric high that only happens when you accomplish something. At least that's how I feel.
As a young mom, I think about confidence a lot. You'd be surprised how much of a topic it is for an almost 5 year old. I think we have to accept a certain level of responsibility as a parent. We need to set the tone for these little people. And it makes me think. I have my struggles and areas of vulnerability but what am I projecting on these little girls on a daily basis?
Well, I've got two big campaigns coming up and I'm baring all! Brutal truth here. No nudity...c'mon now! But I am going to take a big breath and share two posts soon that only make me slightly uncomfortable...okay, a lot uncomfortable! Part of it is for me, ironically I'm hoping it makes me more confident, and the other part is for my girls. Maybe one day they will look back at this virtual diary and say, "Hey, let's celebrate women...flaws and all. Let's celebrate what makes us unique!" It's a bit like our own mini Dove campaign, but not executed nearly as well nor with the same budget!
So tell me...what makes you feel most confident? I'm dying to know! (hint: I've always thought a smile is everyone's best accessory!)
As much as I love shopping for me...I honestly love shopping for you more. I love finding the perfect item when a friend inquires or seeing someones reaction when they open a gift they've been pining for. It's the hunt or the chase, rather. I love a good hunt!
I'm all about the sweaters this week! Let it snow! Let it snow! Let it snow!
Today I've rounded up six super fabulous knits for you OR your gifting needs.
Starting holiday traditions is one of the things we most look forward to and everything kicks off in November. Although it makes for very busy weekends...they bring the most smiles.
Every year we head downtown for the Annual Light Festival which takes place on the Magnificent Mile...better known as Michigan Avenue.
Happy November! Can you believe? I am ready to deck the halls which is the antithesis of how I normally react to the last 60 days of the year. Who am I? Honestly, I am ready for the glitz and the glam because I love a good excuse to dress up so bring on the parties. Are you with me?
Mmmmmm Fall. So delicious and layered and vibrant. I may have a case of the FOMOs from Fashion Week but I am ready to embrace a new season. Not to be confused with pumpkin spice anything because that stuff is gross. Just gimme all the honey crisp apples, sweaters and bonfires and I am a happy camper...a stylish camper but happy!
What's the #1 thing on your Fall shopping wish list? Dying to know!
School begins tomorrow. How that happened I will never know but here we are...scrambling last minute for lunchmeat and folders. Ahhh, the glamorous life!
I'm a bit frenetic at the moment but I wanted to bring back the "love lists" as Fall always gives me a lustful eye towards online shopping
I have never met a summer dress that I didn't like...unless it was revealing. That's a different story! Which begs the question: how cute is this tribal lace up version? It's a mere $48 and I love love love the details...poms, print, flare sleeves...all of my favorite things! Isn't it so refreshing to ditch the layers and bare those legs again? I love it!
In approximately eight minutes <as I write this...> I turn another year older. One more year! I could write you this long diatribe about what I've learned this year but we'll save that for my NYE recap. I'll give you the cliff notes. This year I learned one thing:
Let's shop eh? It's been awhile, right? I've been struggling to hit a rhythm with my blog posting schedule...perhaps even hobbling but I will deliver! I promise. I am so excited to enter a new season and in dire need of tops. Why is it we are always low on tops? Is it just me? No worries, I've found some great ones.
P/S Are you as obsessed with bow mules, loafers and sneakers, too? It's literally taking everything in me not to purchase a pair but that's what birthdays are for!
I'm breaking out the sundresses. It's official. <REJOICE> I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend. I had one of the best Mother's Day celebrations thus far. The weather was gorgeous. We hit the zoo, ate lunch outside, took in all the flowers at the Lincoln Park Conservatory and topped it off with a froyo date. It was amazingly perfect and I am so grateful for this little family of mine.
