Five Fall Faves: featuring Kelly of Keg Designs

Hi everyone! It's Kelly from over at Keg Design. I'm so excited to be here today to share my favorite Fall finds. I've been reading Johanna's fabulous blog for nearly a year now and I absolutely love it. It's a daily indulgence, especially with all the baby posts lately. I'm due with my first (a boy!) in a few short weeks, so I love reading about other Mom's experiences. As many blogs start, Keg Design was initially inspired by my wedding planning four years ago. I also share my graphic design work, including custom invitations and greetings. Keg Design has since evolved into a source of all inspiration for me - party planning, home decor, travel and now babies. I hope you'll come over and check it out... and do say hello!

1. RED FANTASY BLAZER
I love red. It's powerful. Confident. And totally stunning. And it works well with most complexions. This beauty is from one of my all-time favorite shops, Zara. The price is reasonable too. I think this could easily be dressed up or down depending on the occasion and it's so much more exciting than the average black blazer. Good for me, you can wear it open when you're trying to lose your extra baby weight.

2. DUAL PURPOSE LEOPARD TOTE
I love leopard even more than red. What a great neutral. It's sexy too. And look at those gold studs! Every girl needs a new bag for the fall. And this one is perfect because it has both the long and short handles for easy commuting. Even thought it's made of a textured pony skin, I think it's versatile enough to be used as a baby bag during the day and going-out tote at night. And it would look lovely with that red blazer...

3. BRINGING UP BEBE
As I scramble to read up on as much baby wisdom as I can in these last few weeks, I always appreciate a unique approach to things. My neighbor, and mother of two, lent me this book all about French parenting. It's a good read because not only is it informative, but it's also funny and written as a narrative. Author, Pamela Druckerman, writes about her experience of being an American transplant in Paris while raising a family. Did you know that French mothers stay in the hospital for nearly 6 days after giving birth? Or that everyone in France gets 16 weeks 100% PAID maternity leave, rising up to 26 weeks 100% PAID for a third child? Not to mention that they get up to 104 weeks unpaid maternity leave without losing their job. HOLY CRAP, no wonder the French are more relaxed. The U.S. is far behind most other countries with a mere 12 weeks unpaid as your only guarantee. Check out all the statistics here.

4. AZTEC TRIANGLE EARRINGS
Jewelry is a must for me. Especially as the weather turns cold and the tan starts to fade. I think you always need a little something to liven up your look. These earrings are super trendy with the whole "Aztec/Native American" influence happening right now. Plus they match the red blazer and leopard tote! Did I mention that they're only $13 bucks too? Yup, unless it's a piece I'm going to wear everyday, I don't think spending a ton on jewelry is necessary. ASOS and Forever 21 are my go-to destinations for affordable baubles.

5. STUDDED iPHONE CASE
My phone needs a little pick-me-up this fall too. I constantly find myself searching for cool iPhone covers on Pinterest, and I was super excited to find this gold and black studded beauty from Free People. Have you noticed my trend yet? I'm obsessed with anything yellow gold. And black and red for that matter too. This case also comes in blue, white and hot pink for those of you who like a little bit more color. But I should warn you, my last case was white, and boy was that a mistake. White cases = dirty.

Thanks for listening to me ramble today. I hope you were inspired by my Fall picks. If you want to see more from me, check out my blog or Pinterest boards here.

Thanks Kelly...I'm dying to read that book. You may have just built a case for me!
Good luck with baby boy!
