Birthday Masters.

I'm sitting here in full mom-panic-mode. Olivia is turning 5 in May and I have done zilch in terms of planning this birthday. I mean zero. (don't tell her!) As a busy mom, I was pretty proud of myself for getting the evite out. Yeah, that's because for the last five years I've been handwriting and co-designing these gorgeous birthday invitations only for them to end up in someone's trash weeks later. So, we opted to put those dollars towards the party itself. Smart!

Shimmer & Shine.

NYE is one of my favorite holidays. What's not to love about celebrating a year's worth of glorious failures but also, tremendous accomplishments?! The older I get, the more I appreciate the bad because something great always comes of it. No matter how difficult it is to see the forest from the trees...this continues to be a truism for life. And I once read...if you're going to fail - fail gloriously. I love that. I'm kinda an all or nothing gal so if you're gonna do anything...do it with passion!

Fearless Friday: Surviving the holiday season with grace.

With the holidays in full swing, it's only fitting that I chose today's topic. I can't say I've ever written about it before but I think it's time. At this stage in my life, I've been to many-an-event or holiday party...some fabulous and some completely "meh" but all contributed to a greater understanding of not only what makes a wonderful hostess but also...what makes a pleasant guest. Fearless Friday: Surviving Small Talk + A Crazy Social Calendar

You're either a people person or you're not. And if you're not, social situations can leave you squeamish and all together uncomfortable. I see it all the time in creative types...brilliant in their own right but would prefer to stay in with a glass of wine and their computer vs. donning their best party dress and making small talk. Ironically, my husband is not a creative but loathes social situations. Luckily, I carry the weight for both of us! By the time he's on his second beer, I've scheduled a playdate and a double dinner date with said new couple!

"That's so clutch" - 5 holiday clutches for your repertoire.

So. I realize I talk about handbags and shoes quite a bit. As exhibited here. It's my vice so bear with me. (most are dream wish lists and what's a blog if not an escape, right people?!) Anyway...back to the situation at hand.

I'm sure you are in the throws of holiday parties like me. Today, for example, I have meetings in the city which means I carry my work tote all day. When the clock strikes 5 o'clock I have to gracefully pull a switch-a-roo into party attire and look flawless while doing it. Not an easy feat.

Happy Halloween!

Morning friends! Ironic that just yesterday I wrong about "doing it all" and today's post is just now going live. Oy. #bloggerproblems.

Today I'm sharing a few snaps from our backyard Halloween party last weekend. We invited all of our friends, kids or sans kids, to soak up the 70 degree weather and basically...eat a lot of crap food. Pretty much a perfect day for me but we'll table my junk food addictions for another day.

Enjoy and Happy Halloween to you! Be Safe!
